If youre among the millions of Americans burdened by pain and disability associated with chronic arthritis, its likely that your physician has prescribed more than one medication either to ease your discomfort or to treat the conditions underlying causes. According to Michael Wascovich, R.Ph., director of Cleveland Clinics ambulatory pharmacy services, "There are 50 or so medications that are used to treat various types of arthritis." All of these medications, he notes, are intended to counter the inflammatory process, although they may range widely in their specific purpose and chemical makeup.
