Yoga is known to calm the mind, increase flexibility and lower stress, but can it really improve the pain and stiffness of arthritis? Research is proving the answer to be yes. According to a study published in the Journal of Rheumatology (April 2015), just eight weeks of yoga classes improved the physical and mental wellbeing of people with knee osteoarthritis (OA) and those with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The researchers confirmed that yoga might also be especially therapeutic for arthritis sufferers because it combines physical activity with relaxation techniques.
