An X-ray you get for any of a variety of reasons may reveal something you may find alarming—a bone tumor. Bone tumors typically are created by the growth of abnormal tissue. Most tumors that start in bone are benign (noncancerous). The majority actually develop in childhood and adolescence when bones are still growing.
