Working out in water is a great way to get or stay in shape when you have joint pain from just about any form of arthritis. “It takes away gravity and eases pressure on the joints,” explains Cleveland Clinic physical therapist assistant Katie C. Rodrick, PTA, ATC. “Healthcare providers tell people with arthritis that they need to get stronger, but walking—the most basic of exercises—can sometimes cause pain.”
